Now, I love myself an overpriced item as much as the next girl and with 38 shades and textures to choose from, the girl who can't resist won't be disappointed.
But...did I mention these items retail for $90 a pop? If they are sold in the UK (it is unclear whether they will get a GB release), they will retail for AT LEAST £58 (but likely more due to import fees). I mean...I'm all for treating yourself to the odd £26 Chanel lipstick here and there, but would you pay more than double that price for a brand name?
Fashion bloggers are abuzz and practically wetting themselves over these lipsticks, and unless they turn my lips into super soft pillows, last 60 hours straight and plump them to Kylie Jenner proportions, I am really having trouble getting on board the train.
Part of the allure is supposedly that they can be worn as a necklace or an earring. And while they may be beautifully packaged and look nice, it also reminds me of middle school when you wore your Bonne Bell lip smacker on a string...of course this is a much posher version but the idea is still the same.
What are your thoughts? Are you ready to plop down $90 or £58 on one tube of lipstick?
Here are some more photos of the collection courtesy of Christian Louboutin. I was going to get one to review for you ladies, but I don't think I'm going to invest. I do love you ladies though!!
They look lovely, but I'm with you on this one.
ReplyDeleteActually, it's not so much that I *won't* pay that much, it's more that I *can't*. I simply can't afford it.
Yeah I hear ya. They do look beautiful, but damn!
DeleteHow beautiful are those containers?!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt, they are! But $90 worth?
